with reference to Your Lordship's despatch No. 941 of
December 2nd last, transmitting forrespond en ce regarding the
Hongkong Deportation Ordinance, I have the honour to transmit
herewith a copy of correspondence with the Judge of the Supreme
Court at Shanghai, to whom I referred the question concerning
the working of the China Amendment order in Council 1977.
T repret that there is nothing to resort which could
be of maintance to the Colonial authorities in connection
the point don't with in Wentronefte letter to the Under
Mecretsry of "tate for the Colonies of December 19th last.
A copy of this despatch is being sent direct to the
Governor of Hongkong.
